This expansion also received support from the Makassar government who wanted to encourage MSMEs to switch to non-cash payments. Meanwhile, Teddy Tee as CEO of Cashlez also stated that the opening of the Cashlez branch in Makassar aims to support businesses to go digital. Moreover, Makassar City has great potential and strong support from the government. Through the use of non-cash transactions, it is expected that the turnover of business operators will increase which will also support the economy in this city.


Pressrelease.kontan.co.id stated that the opening of the Cashlez branch in Makassar further complements the Cashlez network in Indonesia which is spread across 7 cities, namely Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, and Yogyakarta. Cashlez’s presence in Makassar is a form of support for the government and businesses, especially MSMEs to use non-cash payments. Moreover, the Department of Cooperatives & MSME South Sulawesi Province noted that there were 176,637 MSME owners who came from various sectors.

Meanwhile, Cashlez also decided to choose Makassar as one of its branches because of big the potential of this city as one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia.
